Our Story
Welcome to Appalachia Jack’s Mountain Recipes
Glad to meet you, I am Appalachia Jack, AKA “AJ”. A nickname coined by friends during my travels as a way to rib me for being from the mountain state.
I was born and raised in the hills of Appalachia, and ‘Take Me Home Country Roads” still brings fond memories and a tear to my eyes. From a young age the importance and influence of family and traditions were instilled in me. Those traditions of family always meant food was involved.
Whether a simple meal, picnic on the grounds, a family get-together, or a big holiday gathering, it always included a mouthwatering heavenly spread of various family recipes and creations. No one went away hungry, all were invited.
Appalachia Jack’s Mountain Recipes is my way of honoring and keeping those memories, traditions and influences alive. Many of our products are based on old family recipes or inspired by a family member whose memory is forever linked to one of my creations. It is my way of honoring those family members and giving back the love and devotion that was such an important part of my life growing up.
Each Appalachia Jack creation has a story that serves as the foundation for the recipe.
